My name is Ridzuan Ambran Aston. Graduated from The
Kent Institute of Art & Design in Maidstone, England
with a BA(Hons) in Time-Based Media and an MA in
Visual Communication and 3D Animation. Working as a
Graphic Designer at Radio Television Brunei, my main
area of interest is photography and 3D computer
graphics. Currently, I am trying to assemble a
portfolio of photographs of my daily life in Negara
Brunei Darussalam.
I have been taking pictures since I was 17 years old
and have since moved to digital photography after
starting off with Film cameras. For me, photography is
a way of expressing my thoughts and feelings through
images and colours. I am more interested in subject
matter rather than the actual process itself as I
think that even with the cheapest of cameras, film or
digital, one can convey complex emotions and feelings
through the very act of taking a picture. My approach
to photography is simple; no rules, forget about
technicality. Honesty and individuality is what counts
when taking a good picture. I am not in competition
with anyone, I am just merely here as an observer
trying to create my own distinctive style.
