THE inclusion of an extra team in next season's Malaysian Super League will not be a worry for DPMM FC, said striker Shahrazen Hj Md Said yesterday.
Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) local competitions committee chairman Datuk Che Mat Jusoh said on Tuesday the 2008/09 Super and Premier league season, which is set to start on Nov 1, will see 14 teams competing in each league compared to 13 in the 2007/08 season.
Tied with captain Rosmin Hj Kamis as the team's top scorer with five goals last season, Shahrazen felt that Kuala Muda Naza and KL Plus would prove to be strong challengers despite playing in their first season in the top flight.
"Though they are new to the league, we should not look down on them because both sides have experienced players within their squads," said Shahrazen when contacted yesterday.
"I don't think one extra team in the league will cause us a lot of worry, and instead, I hope we will rise to the occasion.
"We are capable of providing a strong fight no matter who we are up against," added the 22-year-old striker.
