ASSISTANT MANAGER (AMGC C2), GROUP CORPORATE COUNSEL
[Ref : EXT/AM13/FEB/12]

Responsibilities
  • To assist the Manager and/or Senior Manager in the provision of counselling and opinion to other divisions or units for all legal ,regulatory matters and other relevant areas;
  • To assist the Manager and/or Senior Manager in drafting agreements, contracts, regulatory papers, letter of awards, corporate secretarial documents, statutory documents and relevant opinions;
  • To undertake research and compound it into opinions and white papers for relevant legal, regulatory and strategic business matters;
  • To forecast, review, understand and interpret new regulations and incoming rules or changes to existing regulations and implement them to DST;
  • To assist with the review of third party contracts and to give opinions;
  • To assist in providing strategic legal and business advisory;
  • To assist in providing regulatory advisory affairs;
  • To assist in establishing and enhancing legal framework;
  • To assist in ensuring that DST generally works within the legal parameters and ensure it is protected by it;
  • To propose and implement effective strategies to minimise the timing of and optimise the commercial viability of DST;
  • To monitor and implement set initiatives to achieve KPIs;
  • To continuously contribute to the improvement of the legal system within DST;
  • To undertake specific tasks where the Manager and/or Senior Manager has assigned to become focal point/ contact/ responsibility;
  • Generally to undertake other general administration tasks and duties as may be assigned by the superior from time to time including the daily running and supervision of Group Corporate Counsel and budgetary needs, filing of confidential documents and attending meetings.

  • Ability to work independently under minimum supervision with sound judgment, highly analytical and observant to details, self-confident and has strong negotiation skills;
  • Ability to understand complex regulatory issues and revert with opinions and advisory in a timely manner;
  • Appreciate technology and ICT;
  • Pleasant inter-personal skills and attitude;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written;
  • Team player with the ability to be flexible and work comfortably with and assist with a wide range of individuals in a variety of situations in and out of the office

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree Holder or higher qualifications;
  • At least two (2) years working experience in related fields would be an added advantage;
  • Computer literate and good working knowledge of MS office and others;
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Malay Language;
  • Possess valid driving license, own a vehicle and willing to travel for company duties within Brunei Darussalam
